Actually are these both Anthropologie catalog images? Because those are also Anthropologie duvets or bedspreads, aren’t they? I’d love to do that rosette effect with a bi-color silk dupioni. Imagine what the colors would do! Yesterday I saw some beautiful shimmering Indian silk dupioni in a shop in Georgetown in Washington DC. It would be luscious as a bedspread, and I was picturing this very Anthropologie bedspread as I was twisting the warp and weft threads of the dupioni in the light, watching the color change.

Most of these are very simple and some are barely-there designs. Which reflects my preference for beds. I struggle with the idea of very bold, thick, wooden decorative beds. Perhaps because I’ve never lived with one. And my mind isn’t very open to the idea of one. Particularly for four poster beds — they’re already so dominant in a room. So something similar to the beds here will surely be in our India pied a terre.
