How the Living/Dining/Kitchen Walls Might Look, Part 2

A few days ago I posted “old walls” inspiration photos whittled down from hundreds collected over a year of blogging and planning to paint the India apartment. These photos should keep me focused because as we all know, there’s an endless number of ideas in this world! But most homes do not have an endless number of walls. Too bad about that, huh?

These images are similar to my previous post about living/dining room inspiration, but warmer color …

Found at Frangipani Decor:

Via Asian Paints, where we’ll likely get our paints in Chennai:

Now let’s add some stencils. These are some of my favorite images from Design Amour blog AKA Royal Design Studio stencils:

I love how these look old and although mostly monochromatic, there’s so much interest and texture. You can stencil not only on walls, but on glass, mirrors, floors, ceilings and textiles. Visit Design Amour to see gorgeous examples of stenciling. I hope to someday be that good!

From Elle Decor, this looks like paint on gold leaf, but I like the effect:

If you’d like to paint walls to look old, I’ve shared a DIY tutorial showing how to paint new walls to look old.

  1. Oh, this is going to be fabulous! I can’t BELIEVE what an amazing resource library of inspiration you have. You are great to follow on Pinterest!! Thanks so much for loving my stencils too! :)

    1. Thank you so much Melanie! I get a little addicted to Pinterest. :) But it’s more fun to share inspiration than keep it on a folder on my computer. I am so excited to paint with your stencils and I hope I can live up to the vision in my mind …
